MAGU Lightweight Concrete: Thermally Insulating and Level-Regulating
MAGU lightweight concrete is characterized by excellent thermal insulation combined with high compressive strength.
MAGU lightweight concrete can be applied on-site in a plastic state; it encases pipes, fills holes or gaps, compensates for unevenness in wooden beams, levels out differences in height, and—once cured—is resistant to moisture and frost and can be walked on immediately after just a few hours.
Examples of Use
Leveling and filling wooden beam ceilings or old slag ceilings while installing thermal insulation
Filling and leveling pipes and uneven surfaces.
Leveling, for example, when dealing with varying heights on rooftop terraces.
Installing MAGU Lightweight Concrete with a Screed Machine
When using a screed machine, the following components are mixed in the machine for 2 minutes and pumped directly, depending on the required compressive strength and desired thermal insulation.
200 liters (1 bag) of MAGU granules Cement: 1 or 3 bags, 25 kg each (AD200 or AD560) MAGU Additive for a Homogeneous Mixture Water According to a Recipe
This means that 2–3 cbm of MAGU lightweight concrete can be mixed and poured in one hour.
MAGU Lightweight Concrete in Bags
For smaller repairs, MAGU lightweight concrete is available in 30-liter bags; for larger quantities, it is also available by the pallet. Within a 15-kilometer radius of our Hüfingen location and for orders of 5 cubic meters or more, we deliver it ready-to-use in a concrete mixer truck. It is then fed directly to the job site through doors and windows via the concrete pump’s hose.
MAGU Lightweight Concrete AD 560 is available in 25-liter paper bags for mixing directly with water. Depending on the application, it can be mixed while very wet or just hand-dry.
Mix the entire contents of the bag in a mortar bucket using a mixer and 8 to 12 liters of water. To achieve a homogeneous mixture, mix for about 4 minutes.
MAGU lightweight concrete can also be mixed using a conventional concrete mixer. The consistency can be adjusted by varying the amount of water added.
MAGU Lightweight Concrete AD 560 can be left untreated, for example, in attic areas. In living areas, MAGU lightweight concrete can be tiled directly after a few days. Once the required levelness has been achieved, a thin, self-leveling finishing coat can be applied.
