Ces compos\u00e9s \u00e0 longue cha\u00eene forment la structure cellulaire, ce qui entra\u00eene la pr\u00e9sence de nombreuses poches d\u2019air. C\u2019est cet air emprisonn\u00e9 qui assure la bonne isolation thermique.<br \/>Le monom\u00e8re styr\u00e8ne est \u00e9galement un composant aromatique pr\u00e9sent dans les noix, le caf\u00e9, les fraises et de nombreux autres aliments. De plus, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l'enduit, il reste prot\u00e9g\u00e9 pendant longtemps, m\u00eame en cas de temp\u00e9ratures \u00e9lev\u00e9es et de flammes.<br \/>Pour le Neopor, on utilise depuis toujours un retardateur de flamme polym\u00e8re et inoffensif.
